Parents of ‘sex addict’ teen sue Tyra show

The parents of a teenage girl, who appeared on The Tyra Banks Show, have filed a $3 million lawsuit against the TV star and the producers for featuring her without their consent.

The suit was filed earlier in October by the girl’s parents in an Atlanta federal court who are based out of Georgia, Contactmusic re-ported. It claims that Banks, alongside Warner Bros executives and producers of show failed to secure legal permission to air the story about the girl and her alleged sex addiction.
The girl was called on the show as a guest. She was invited after her responded to an open call on the show’s website for self-proclaimed sex addicts in 2009. The parents insists that the show bosses have violated Georgia state lab-our laws by not alerting them about their intentions to feature the girl. “It has provoked unnecessary atte-ntion from sexual deviants, perverts and paedophiles alike by labelling the feature as the show 15-year-old sex addict,” they said in the lawsuit. The family now wants ban on any future repeat telecast of the episode. —PTI
