Outrage over Jacko autopsy re-enactment
The executors of Michael Jacksonâs estate are expressing outrage over an âinsensitiveâ television special âin shockingly bad tasteâ that plans to re-enact the King of Popâs autopsy. In a letter to Discovery Communications on Wednesday, John Branca and John McClain deplored in the strongest terms the Discovery Channelâs âblind desire to exploit Michaelâs death, while cynically attempting to dupe the public into believing this show will have serious medical value.â
The pair were especially angered by a European promotional advertisement for the programme that shows Jacksonâs trademark sequinned glove emerging from beneath a coronerâs white draping sheet. âDiscovery obviously views this as clever advertising and creative âbrandingâ for the programme... In fact, the ad is debased, sick and insensitive,â said the letter addressed to Discovery Communications president and CEO David Zaslav.
