New Bond novel to be out Sept. 26

A new James Bond novel, written by British novelist William Boyd, will be released on September 26, publishers Jonathan Cape announced on Monday. The book, as yet untitled, is set in 1969 and features a 45-year-old Bond.
“1969. A veteran secret agent. A single mission. A licence to kill. James Bond returns,” readers are promised.
The glamorous British spy’s creator Ian Fleming died in 1964 after writing 14 novels in the Bond series, but other authors have since kept the saga alive and the franchise has now sold more than 100 million books.
The latest two novels were Devil May Care (2008) by Sebastian Faulks and Jeffery Deaver’s Carte Blanche in 2011.
This year marks 60 years since Fleming’s first Bond novel, Casino Royale, was published in 1953. The announcement of the new book’s release date comes on the same day that Skyfall — the 23rd official Bond film, starring Daniel Craig — is released on DVD in Britain.
Skyfall is the first film ever to take £100 million at the British box office. Globally, last year’s Bond movie has taken more than $1 billion.

Beyonce, Jay Z to buy jacko’s neverland?
New York: Popstar Beyonce Knowles and rapper Jay Z toured Neverland Ranch, Michael Jackson’s 2,700-acre Southern California estate and are interested in buying it, according to sources.
Shortly after the rap mogul released his Watch the Throne documentary last year, the superstar couple jetted off to the late King of Pop’s abandoned palace, where they toured the property with Colony Capital owner Thomas Barrack Jr, who manages the estate.
“It is something that we want to keep in the family but the estate will do what it wishes,” Michael’s brother Randy said. Another sibling said that Michael’s children, who are heirs to his fortune, get upset each time reports surface of a potential Neverland sale. “It is the home they loved, the home their father loved and where they can still connect with him,” the family member said. — PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
