Manisha to tie knot on June 18

Actress Manisha Koirala will tie the knot with Samrat Dahal, a businessman seven years her junior, in a traditional ceremony on June 18.
The “swayambar” will take place at the Gokarna Forest Resort in eastern Kathmandu and the guest list includes the who’s who of both Nepal and India, said family sources. The 40-year-old actress, the grand-daughter of Nepal’s first elected PM Bishweshwor Prasad Koirala and niece of democratic leader Girija Prasad Koirala, will also throw a lavish party two days later at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza.
The marriage which comes two months after the demise of Girija Prasad Koirala, will bring happiness to the Koirala family and Manisha’s parents Prasad and Sushila Koirala will host all the ceremonies.
Manisha and Dahal, have been seeing each other over the past year and their wedding was fixed by an astrologer a few months ago. The actress has evaded marriage over the years and broke off two prior engagements. She was reportedly engaged to ex-Australian ambassador to Nepal, Crispin Conroy in 2001, but broke up with him. In 2009 too, the grapevine was abu-zz with reports that Manisha will wed American speaker and author Christopher Dorris, but that relationship too ended.

Simon’s wedding called off?
London: Music mogul Simon Cowell, who was all set to marry his fiancee Mehzgan Hussainy this year, has called off the wedding according to his friend Piers Morgan.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge has hinted that Cowell’s big wedding is not happening any time soon, reported Daily Star online. When quizzed on US news network CNN about Cowell’s upcoming nuptials, Morgan said, “What wedding?”
The confused reporter asked, “Isn’t he getting married?” To which Morgan replied, “Not as far as he’s said.” Sources close to the X Factor supremo believe he has put his personal life on hold because of his hectic schedule.
As well as his British shows, Simon is also launching the X Factor in the US in 2011. —PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
