Lohan to plead no-contest in necklace case
Actress Lindsay Lohan is considering pleading no-contest in her alleged jewellery theft case, says her mother. Lohan’s mother Dina also says that her 24-year-old daughter is desperate to put the legal process behind her, reports contactmusic.com.
“Obviously she’s not pleading guilty. My children don’t steal things. But the system is so strange out in Los Angeles. We’re considering a couple of options and just want to get this over with in the shortest amount of time,” Dina told New York Daily newspaper.
Lindsay is due to appear in the court Friday, where her lawyers will reveal if she wants to accept a plea deal over the alleged theft of a $2,500 necklace from Kamofie & Co. jewellery store in Venice, California.
“Lindsay is up for a couple of film roles and we want this behind us the quickest way possible. We’re speaking with the attorneys and we’ll make that decision after we talk,” said Dina.

F-word in radio version of Brontë classic
London: A new radio version of Emily Brontë’s romantic novel Wuthering Heights will be littered with explicit phrases, including the F-word, a media report said. The BBC radio version has been adapted by Jonathan Holloway.
Wuthering Heights is the only novel by Emily Brontë. It was first published in 1847.
The name comes from a Yorkshire manor on which the story is based. It is a tale of passionate love between two characters, Heathcliff and Catherine. ‘The play contains a number of strong expletives, with both of them using the F-word,” a BBC source was quoted as saying by the Daily Express.Author Jonathan Holloway said: “It is a story of a tortuous, unfulfilled relationship. The F-words are part of my attempt to capture the shock the book caused when it was published.”
But swearing might make the play more like the original, according to Andrew McCarthy, of the Bronte Parsonage Museum in Howarth, West Yorkshire.
