Lindsay didn’t try to escape rehab: Lawyer

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer has rubbished reports that the actress recently attempted to escape rehab. The Mean Girls star has been in and out of rehab this year and she is currently receiving treatment at the Betty Ford Clinic in California. She checked into the facility after paying $300,000 bail to walk free from prison after failing two mandatory drug tests.
According to the reports, the actress was not happy with the centre and recently found herself in trouble for sneaking out to buy a can of soda. However, Lohan’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley is insistent the stories aren’t true, and that the 24-year-old star is making good progress at the clinic, reported torontosun.com. “(The) escape story is absurd and untrue. The counsellor gave Lindsay an unqualified glowing report on her progress,” Holley said.

Cameron to direct Jolie in Cleopatra?
Los Angeles: Director James Cameron is in talks to direct Angelina Jolie in a new 3-D film based on the life of Egyptian queen Cle-opatra. Based on Stacy Schiff’s book Cleopatra: A Life, the movie is being produced by Scott Rudin and the Avatar director is a favourite to helm the project. Jolie, who is currently shooting her directorial debut, a Bosnian love story, has already confirmed her interest in the role, deadline.com reported. “I think if we can get the story right and... A lot about her has not been covered. If we can do something original we will. But no director yet.”
Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chair Amy Pascal said the company is anxio-us to make the movie after screenwriter Bran Helgeland (Green Zone, Robin Hood) wrote a “brilliant sc-ript deserving of epic treatment” all about “what the Romans took from Egypt”, deadline.com reports.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
