Julia says her daughter wants to live in India
Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts, who was in India in 2009 to shoot for her upcoming film, said that her children loved staying in the country so much that her daughter wishes to live in India when she grows up.
Appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show, Roberts spoke about her upcoming movie Eat, Pray, Love, parts of which were shot in India last September.
The actress told Winfrey in the show aired on Monday that she and her three children— 5-year-old twins Finn and Hazel and 2 1/2-year-old son Henry — were “amazed” by India.
“To be in India is to experience India. It is not that you have to go find it. It is all right there,” Roberts said.
“The children love it. Hazel said when she grows up, that’s where (India) she’s going to live,” she said adding that her daughter does not want to visit India occasionally but is keen on staying there.
The 42-year-old star travelled with her husband and kids to Italy, India and Bali to shoot for the movie, based on an eponymous book by American author and memoirist Elizabeth Gilbert.
Roberts, who starred in blockbusters Pretty Woman and Erin Brockovich, said her children enjoyed experiencing the culture of every place they visited.
Her son Finn even shaved his head before coming to India. “My kids were really into the culture of every place we went. Hazel also wanted to shave her head, so I let her shave the back half of her head. They would chant, and they were just interested,” she said.
