‘Jacko’s spirit still haunts his house’

Three years after his death the spirit of King of Pop Michael Jackson is still haunting the Los Angeles mansion where he died.
Neighbours say they have seen the pop icon strolling around his old LA home like a scene from his Thriller video and they have heard his music and singing during the night, reported the Daily Star.
One of the star’s Beverly Hills neighbours said, “Everyone thinks that Michael’s ghost walks around the house. It has freaked everyone out. When he was living there, Michael would regularly look through the curtains and see who was around.
“People have heard his music coming from the house and even singing. It is so weird. The world knew that Michael was obsessed by the afterlife, from his songs like Thriller. He believed in spirits — now his own has returned.”
Jackson lived at the mansion with his children Prince, now 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 10. He died on June 25, 2009 due to a Propofol overdose at the age of 50. His doctor Conrad Murray has been accused of manslaughter and was jailed for four years last November.

Daffodils may hold key to depression cure
London: Scientists have discovered compounds in South African species of snowdrops and daffodils which are able to pass through the blood barrier that prevents drugs to reach the brain, a finding they say could hold key to treating mental conditions such as depression.
The barrier has been a problem for doctors treating brain conditions like depression as it contains proteins which push the drugs out as soon as they get in. It has been shown that nine out of 10 compounds can’t penetrate the brain. A team at the Unive-rsity of Copenhagen found that compounds from flowers Crinum and Cyrtan-thus were able to pass through the barrier. — PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
