It’s official! Men just hate to shop

Men really are hopeless, and stingy, when it comes to Christmas shopping.
New research reveals that Kiwi men and women are expected to spend an average of $300 each on presents this festive season, but that’s just about their only similarity when it comes to Christmas shopping.
For instance, men plan more but seem to achieve less and leave more to the last minute. Men are also much more likely to overspend just to get it done.
“They throw money at the problem,” stuff.co.nz quoted David Thomason, planning director of advertising agency DraftFCB, who led the research project, as saying.
Six in 10 men plan which shops to visit and who to buy for. Women were slightly less organised with less than half of them having a list. But despite the preparations, men had managed only 20 per cent of their expected shopping by December 2 while women were racing away, having completed more than 30 per cent.
“Men just don’t like shopping as much. When they do go shopping, they spend less time at it and visit fewer shops,” he said.

Lindsay moves to new rehab
Los Angeles: Troubled star Lindsay Lohan who is in rehab to cure her drug and alcohol addictions has been moved to a new sober house amid safety concerns.
The 24-year-old actress has been receiving treatment at California’s Betty Ford since October. But she moved to another facility after she started receiving strange phone calls from Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lutfi, reported E! Online.
Lohan has been ordered by court to complete three months of treatment for violating her probation arising from a drink driving arrest in 2007.
However, the actress’s father Michael Lohan dismissed reports that Lutfi was the main reason for the move insisting “two other individuals” led to the switch. —PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
