Iron artefacts came from space

Cosmic jewellery! Some of the earliest iron artefacts ever found — beads strung into a necklace found in a 5,000-year-old Egyptian cemetery — were made from a meteorite, archaeologists said.

Experts have shown that ancient Egyptian iron beads held at the University College London Petrie Museum were hammered from pi-eces of meteorites, rather than iron ore.
