Gaga’s meat dress enters Hall of Fame

Pop star Lady Gaga’s infamous meat dress is all set to go on public display at America’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame museum.
The 25-year-old shocked her fans by attending the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in an outfit made entirely of raw animal flesh, the Hollywood Reporter said. The dress, which was hand-sewn by Franc Fernandez and Nichola Formichetti, has been preserved and is now set to become part of the Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power exhibition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.
The flesh-made frock, which was named Best Fashion Statement of 2010 by Time magazine, will go on display from Thursday.
Lady Gaga had previously said that the dress has many meanings and is not intended to hurt anyone’s feelings.
“Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth. However, it has many interpretations for me this evening. If we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat,” she said.

Rowling starts new Potter site
London: Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has launched a new website called “Pottermore”, but fans of the boy wizard will have to wait to see what it entails as the entry page says simply “Coming Soon...”.
The site, www.pottermore.com, was launched a month ahead of the release of the eighth and final Potter movie on July 15.
Some Potter fan sites, which have been instrumental in generating a large and loyal fan base for the movies and seven-book series on which they are based, were given a sneak preview of the mysterious new website. “It is, in a word, breathtaking,” wrote Leaky Cauldron, one of the leading Potter sites. “That is all we are permitted to say at the moment.”
Rowling and Potter studio Warner Brothers have never shied away from building up the hype ahead of key releases in the series.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
