First ever drag queen Barbie launched in uk
Barbie dolls have been a part of every girl’s childhood but now the famous plastic doll is aiming to inspire male fans with the first drag queen Barbie. The doll is created in part by New York-based fashion designer Phillipe Blond, who is a cross-dresser himself. The term drag queen is not officially used to describe the new Blonds Blond Diamond Barbie Doll, reported Daily Mail.
Mattel, the company that manufactures Barbie, commissioned the work to Phillipe and David Blond of the label, who have expressed their adoration for the doll ever since their label was born in 2007.
“One of the great things about Barbie is that she continues to push the envelope. Barbie doesn’t worry about what other people think,” said Cathy Cline, vice-president of marketing for Mattel’s girls’ brands.

Beating left me ashamed, Riri tells Oprah
Los Angeles: A sobbing Rihanna has told Oprah Winfrey she felt protective of boyfriend Chris Brown after he beat her up more than three years ago and was concerned that everyone would think of him as a monster. The Umbrella singer, in a rare emotional TV interview set to air on Sunday detailing her thoughts about the highly publicised 2009 assault, told Winfrey that the days and weeks after incident left her confused and ashamed.
“It was embarrassing, it was humiliating,” Rihanna told Winfrey in the interview, excerpts of which were released on Thursday. “I lost my best friend. Everything I knew switched, switched in a night, and I couldn’t control that. It was a weird, confusing space to be in. Because as angry as I was - as angry and hurt and betrayed — I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help. And who’s going to help him?” — Reuters
