Desperate Housewives to end in ’12?

The women of Wisteria Lane in hit show Desperate Housewives are all set to bid goodbye to the audience in 2012.

The eighth season, which will begin in September 2011 and end in May 2012, will be its last and ABC is expected to make an official announcement, reported Cobntactmusic.
The main castmembers Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria are just getting word.
After initially expressing interest in the show’s ninth season, Housewives longtime showrunner Marc Cherry stepped down at the end of season seven and is currently facing charges from former cast member Nicolette Sheridan over a purported slap.
Desperate Housewives has been a success amongst audiences and critics alike since its 2004 debut, it has become the most-watched comedy series internationally in the past four years.
In its first season, Housewives drew a 10.4 rating/23 share in the 18-49 demo and 23.6 million viewers overall. —PTI
