Craig visits UK troops in Afghan
Bond star Daniel Craig paid a surprise visit to British troops stationed at Camp Bastion base in Afghanistan.
The actor also gave a special introduction before screening his latest Bond film, Skyfall. More than 800 British soldiers welcomed the Bond actor as he gave a speech and talked about the film before its screening. Craig then went on to tour the camp, met hospital patients at Bastion Role 3 Hospital, which specialises in treating trauma patients. According to the ministry of defence, the actor also got a chance to fire a couple of machine guns used by the British tro-ops in Afghanistan and saw what kinds of trainings the soldiers need to undergo before being deployed to forward operating bases.

Skyfall highest grossing bond movie at $669m
Los Angeles: Skyfall, the 23rd official James Bond movie, has reeled in $669 million, making it the highest-grossing instalment in the 50-year-old franchise.
The Daniel Craig starrer has earned a massive $507.9 million internationally and $161.3 million in North America, the Hollywood Reporter said. The film is well ahead of the $599.2 million earned by Casino Royale in 2006.
The success of Skyfall has been a boon for Sony, which is enjoying a record year. Sony is releasing and marketing the movie on behalf of MGM and EON Productions. — PTI
