Chipped nail paint can cost you a job?
Interviewers make all sorts of snap judgments about a candidate’s character based solely on their grooming regime, according to a new survey of British bosses.
In a survey of 2,000 executives by a UK-based fashion retailer, one in four bosses said that chipped nail varnish quickly takes the shine off an applicant’s chances, as it makes them appear nervous or unprepared. A fifth of managers see split ends as a sign of laziness, and one in six said smudged mascara made them fear hiring a “party animal” who would be quick to escape the office for the bar, the Daily Mail reported.
A deep tan leads bosses to the conclusion that a candidate would gladly abandon their duties for the pleasures of a beach break, while bright red lipstick, heavily pencilled eyebrows and overpowering perfume are considered indicative of an overconfident and cocky personality.

Anne Hathaway ties knot with Adam Shulman
Los Angeles: Hollywood star Anne Hathaway has tied the knot with actor and jewellery designer Adam Shulman after a four-year relationship.
The 29-year-old actress walked down the aisle in front of more than 100 guests who were invited for the wedding weekend, which started with a rehearsal dinner at the Ventana Inn and Spa in scenic Big Sur on the California coast.
A nearby private estate was secured for the ceremony. The bride wore a dress by Valentino, after the designer recently confirmed he would be in charge of creating her gown, while the groom dressed in a dapper tuxedo.
Anne asked Yifat Oren to plan the nuptials, the same person who helped Natalie Portman plan her wedding to Benjamin Millipied.

7-foot Stuffed elephant up for sale
London: Like collecting unusual items at auctions? A 100-year-old stuffed African elephant 7-feet-high and 11-feet-long could be on display in your drawing room as it is set to go under the hammer next month. The elephant will be up for sale at Brading on the Isle of Wight on October 18. The beast had been on show at Brading Waxworks until it closed down in 2010 and has had to be lifted by crane into the auction rooms next door to its old home, Hose Rhodes Dickson, the Daily Mail reported.
It may make £1,000 and auctioneer Rex Gully said: “It has to be the most unusual lot we have ever had. I think there will be big demand because it’s so very rare. Where else do you find one?”
Many of the other stuffed animals, including a giant tortoise were sold at action the same year, but the elephant’s size prevented him from fitting through doors.
