Campbell postpones testimony
Supermodel Naomi Campbell has postponed her testimony in the ongoing war crimes trial over a “blood diamond” she was allegedly given by former Liberian President Charles Taylor.
The 40-year-old catwalk queen has become embroiled in a court case in the Netherlands involving Taylor, who has pleaded not guilty to a series of charges, including murder, torture and terrorism, stemming from Sierra Leone’s 1991-2002 civil war. Campbell was scheduled to appear in court in The Hague July 29 but the date has now been pushed back after Campbell requested a later hearing, reports torontosun.com.
A spokesperson for the special court for Sierra Leone says the new appearance “is not expected to be more than a few days later”. If she fails to appear, she could be sentenced to up to seven years in jail as punishment, according to the subpoena.

Miami cops against Enrique naked ski stunt
Los Angeles: Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias may not be able to ski naked in Miami as promised as cops in Florida are trying to prevent the singer from carrying out the stunt.
The Hero hitmaker had offered to bare all and go water skiing if Spain won its first football World Cup — a feat the team managed earlier this month.
And the 35-year-old singer, whose father Julio was once a top goalkeeper in Spain, insisted he would go ahead with the daring prank, stating, “A bet is a bet!” But police officers in Miami are adamant they will halt the singer’s plans.
“We enforce all laws here, regardless of what your status is in the Miami community,” said a source. —PTI
