Brand, Perry to have 7-day wedding in India

British comedian Russell Brand and fiancee singer Katy Perry will tie the knot in India this month and they are planning a seven-day period of wedding festivities.
They want their big day to be extra special, so they are making it last an entire week. They even sent out white embossed wedding invitations last week.
The guest list includes Jonathan Ross, Noel Gallagher, David Walliams, Morrissey, Rihanna and Taylor Swift. The stylish invites read — Meet you in Delhi in October. Dates to follow. Please allow seven days for this event. The nuptials will have a glitzy Hollywood meets Bollywood theme.
“Expect the most vibrant wedding of the year. It will be a mix of traditional Hollywood glamour with Katy’s hair and dress, plus Indian touches like henna art on her hands and feet, an Indian tiara and hair brooches,” mirror.co.uk quoted a source as saying. “It will be at the end of October and will last for seven days. About 75 to 100 guests will be staying at a resort in India and the ceremony is going to be held at an ashram. Katy hired Mindy Weiss to arrange it,” the source added. The singer has got Lebanese designer Reem Acra doing her bridal gown.
Katy’s dress is said to be a mix of 1940s Hollywood and her quirky style, and her raven hair will be styled in soft curls “I want my dress to be ornate and detailed and cinched and beautiful. I have my own look, which I call ‘Lolita meets old Hollywood glam’. My style is less cute, more miaow,” she said.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
