Bond gun sells for $436,000

An air pistol held by the original James Bond star Sean Connery in a promotional poster for the 1963 classic From Russia With Love has fetched $436,000 in an auction.
The weapon which recently went on sale at Christie’s auction house in London was only expected to reach between £30,000 and £40,000 but collected 10 times its asking price, contactmusic reported.
Another James Bond pistol, which appeared in the 1974 film The Man With The Golden Gun, sold for $30,000 at the Popular Culture: Film and Entertainment sale.
A Darth Vader costume which had been expected to fetch up to $400,000 failed to sell.
Other items up for auction included a dinosaur model from the 1933 King Kong film and a metal box containing the glowing red eye of the computer HAL from the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
