Bodyguard to testify against doc

A bodyguard who prosecutors say was ordered by the doctor charged in Michael Jackson’s death to conceal syringes and other items before calling 911 is expected to shed light on the chaotic efforts that failed to revive the King of Pop. Alberto Alvarez will testify on Wednesday at a preliminary hearing against Dr Conrad Murray about the doctor’s attempts to revive the singer on June 25, 2009, his attorney said.
The bodyguard’s testimony could provide key corroboration to the prosecutors’ argument that Murray’s actions demonstrated “an extreme deviation from the standard of care” by administering the powerful anaesthetic propofol without the proper equipment, and also concealing it and botching efforts to resuscitate the singer. An autopsy report found Jackson died from an overdose of propofol. Deputy district attorney said on Tuesday that Murray forced Alvarez, 34, to gather and conceal items before calling 911 to try to help Jackson.

Is Meg Ryan dating John Mellencamp?
Los Angeles: Hollywood actress Meg Ryan has sparked dating rumours after she was spotted with singer John Mellencamp in New York, just days after his split from wife.
According to friends, the 49-year-old actress has been seeing the Jack and Diane rocker secretly for several weeks after he ended his two decade marriage with the former model Elaine Irwin, People online reported. Ryan, who shifted her base to New York last year has been seen with the 59-year-old singer in the Martha’s Vineyard Island off the coast of New England and in New York where they are regular customers of the Gourmet Garage grocery store.
“She usually comes in by herself or with her daughter. I thought that was her husband because they seemed for comfortable and familiar with each other, just like an old married couple,” a source said. The actress has a son and a daughter with the latter being adopted from China.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
