Black hole can swallow solar system

This black hole is large enough to swallow our entire solar system and weighs as much as 6.8 billion suns. The M87 black hole is the largest such phenomenon identified so far.
Previous estimates had it as only three billion times the weight of the sun. Scientists used a specially adapted telescope in Hawaii to observe it and discovered that it was more than twice as heavy as had been previously thought, catapulting it into the record books. It was observed in M87, by far the largest and most distant galaxy
in the nearby universe, some 50 million light years away, the Daily Mail reported. The researchers said it may have formed as a result of hundreds of smaller black holes merging into one at some point in the past, according to a University of Texas statement.
As a point of comparison, the black hole at the centre of the Milky Way is 1,000 times smaller. Astronomer Karl Gebhardt of the University of Texas in Austin, US said: “It (M87) could swallow our solar system whole.”

Thinking about workout makes you eat more
London: Thinking about a workout makes you eat 50 per cent more food. Researchers link it with a subconscious reward theory, which suggests that when physical or mental effort is spent on exercising, we reward ourselves by eating more. “Just imagining exercising leads participants to serve themselves more food,” said Brian Wansink of Cornell University in the US who led the study. Two groups were asked to read a scenario describing a 30-minute walk during which they were listening to music or focused on exercising and how tired they felt. The third, a control group, did neither, the Daily Mail reports.
Then the people, who did not know the study’s purpose, were offered food from bowls of sweet or salty snacks as a reward for their time, according to a Cornell statement. Those who read about exercising ate 58.9 per cent more sweet snacks and 51.9 per cent more salty snacks than the control group. —IANS

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
