Beatles at Olympics 2012?

The London Olympics to be held in 2012 are going to be a special one as Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the remaining Beatles members, have been asked to perform at the games.
The organisers want the duo to perform either at the opening or closing ceremony at the games, reported Sun online. “I met the guy who knows the guy who’s going to ask somebody about it soon. I hear there’s a rumour that I might be involved,” McCartney said, giving vague details about the event. Though the two haven’t confirmed the reports, sources say that they are just playing it safe and don’t want to give away the surprise factor. “Macca was just being coy about the details. He has been speaking to organisers and has said he’d love to be involved with the games in some way.
The organisers want the Beatles legend to appear alongside other big British acts. And they want Ringo on stage as well to make it extra special,” a source said.
There are also possibilities that George Harrison and John Lennon could be represented by their kids.
“The Beatles are loved all over the world so it’s a no-brainer that they should be represented at the Olympics,” the source added.
