Arnie’s Austria home turned into a museum
Austrian officials marked Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 64th birthday by opening his childhood home as a museum. Tourists flocked to the modest yellow house in the small village of Thal, where the former California governor lived from birth in 1947 until 1966, when he left to compete in the Mr Universe competition, reported BBC online.
On display are the action man’s childhood bed, his dumbbells, a sword from Conan the Barbarian and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle used in the “Terminator” franchise.
Schwarzenegger, who celebrated his birthday in California, has given his blessing to the project. “He was a little farmboy and his career was so exciting and so special and I think the Austrian people are really proud. He always comes to visit Thal when he is in Austria. He came here on June 21 and he was really excited about the exhibits,” museum co-ordinator He-lga Forstner said.

‘Drinking wine stops sunburn’
London: It’s often said that drinking wine is good for your heart and provide other health benefits. Now, add one more to the list — it could protect you from sunburn, says a new study.
Researchers from the University of Barcelona and the Spanish National Research Council have carried out the study and found that grapes - the main ingredient of wine — contain a chemical, called flavonoids, which can limit cell damage.
The study, carried out in vitro in the laboratory, has been published in the latest edition of the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
In their study, the researchers looked at the chemical reaction in the skin when hit by UV rays from the sun. They found that flavonoids in the grapes can stop the chemical reaction that causes cells to die and therefore skin damage. —PTI
