Anish leads Gangnam parody in ai support
Indian-origin sculptor Anish Kapoor has added to the fast growing number of parodies of South Korean singer Psy’s runaway international hit, Gangnam Style, by unveiling a tribute in favour of Chinese artist Ai Wewei on Wednesday night.
The song by Park Jae-sang, who uses stage name Psy, short for Psycho, has spawned a large number of parodies in the UK, including one by Eton students.
Controversial Chinese artist Ai Weiwei also had released a video of Gangnam Style parody, which was taken off by the Chinese authorities from the Internet. It showed a handcuffed Weiwei to highlight the lack of freedom in China. Kapoor’s parody, called Gangnam for Freedom, has been choreographed by Akram Khan, who took part in the Olympics opening ceremony this year.

‘Pregnancy Sex doesn’t bring on labour’
New York: Despite a widespread belief that sex during the later stages of pregnancy can jumpstart labour, a new study from Malaysia found no differences in the timing of delivery between women who had sex near term and those who abstained.
“We are a little disappointed that we did not find an association,” said Dr Tan Peng Chiong, an obstetrics and gynaecology professor at the University of Malaya, and one of the authors of the study. “It would have been nice for couples to have something safe, effective and perhaps even fun that they could use themselves to help go into labour a little earlier if (they) wanted.” Tan said that many women believe intercourse can induce labour, and scientists have proposed plausible biological explanations for it. For one, semen contains a hormone-like substance called prostaglandin, which is used in synthetic form to induce labour. — Reuters
