Ailing Lady Gaga postpones ‘Monster Ball’ tour dates
Pop star Lady Gaga has cancelled some of her ongoing ‘Monster Ball’ tour dates after doctors advised her to take rest following complaints of severe inflammation of joints and suffering from “chronic pain”.
The 26-year-old star posted a message on her Facebook page on Tuesday breaking this news to her fans and apologised for having to cancel these gigs.
“There’s an unfortunate announcement coming out right now, concerning myself and the ‘Born This Way’ Ball. I’m so sorry. I barely know what to say,” wrote Gaga on her wall.
“I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for some time now, over the past month it has worsened. I’ve been praying it would heal. I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last night’s performance I could not walk and still can’t,” it read.
She described her condition as ‘devastated and sad’ and expressed hope that she would be able to recover soon. “To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton (where the performances have been cancelled) I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. I’m devastated and sad. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and I’m sorry,” added Gaga.
On her website the condition has been described as ‘Synovitis’ (severe inflammation of joints) and it was confirmed that she has been told by doctors to rest. The next scheduled show is set to be on February 19, in Philadelphia.
