Tata Steel begins work at Gopalpur
After more than a decade,Tata Steel has finally started work on its 4,000 acre at Gopalpur in Orissa. The work, however, is not for the steel plant as envisaged during the acquisition of land, but for building an industrial park.The foundation stone was laid by Mr Naveen Patnaik on Friday. The park is expected to attract investments of around Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 15,000 crore and generate employment for 10,000 people. The Tata Steel MD,
Mr H.M. Nerurkar, said that the company would be an anchor investor and would invest Rs 1,000 crore for a 50,000-tonne per annum.
