Musical warfare for select bands

And now, it’s the battle of the headbangers. Hard Rock Café is now bringing all heavy metal lovers a chance to hear some of the finest up and coming bands in India in their latest edition of “Battle of the Bands”. The winner of the pan India contest will get a chance to perform at Hyde Park in London, as part of the Hard Rock Calling 2011 music festival.

The multi-city tour kicked off in Mumbai on February 24, with Tough on Tobacco, Alex Rintu, Bombay Bassment, Ankur and the Ghalat Family and Summerpint Junkie as the selected bands. The Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune legs of the contest will follow.
Amit Keswani, VP — sales and marketing — of JSM Corp (which is co-hosting the event) says, “This is to give our young musicians a chance to showcase their talent on an international platform. They will share the stage with global legends from the music industry.”
Hard Rock Calling 2011 will feature stars like Roger Waters, Aerosmith and Eric Clapton.
