Kylie celebrates life with Aphrodite
Kylie is back with her 11th album Aphrodite that’s full of the singer’s signature notes, contemporary pop like tunes, romantic lyrics which has become her trademark. In the beginning of the album itself she declares in the title track, “It’s the truth, it’s a fact, I was gone and now I’m back” and that’s when you realise that more than anything
else this album is a celebration of life post her recovery from breast cancer. The singer begins the album with a bang and it’s full of promise especially with the track Get Outta My Way which is the kind of song young fans will cheer and dance through as it’s bursting with energy.
The disco-pop rhythm continues with numbers like Put Your Hands Up (Feel the Love) and Closer. Just when you are about to stereotype this into one of those club albums, there comes Everything Is Beautiful, with touching lyrics and a hummable tune. This soft number with a ballad-like feel shows us the romantic side of Kylie. The rest of the album continues in a similar pattern and the tracks leave you feeling happy in the end and some of the lyrics might even make you smile.
But somewhere along the line you search for the same magic that this singer created with Can’t get you outta my head and as the album comes to an end you realise it’s missing. On the other hand, if you are looking for music that will give you an instant high this energetic album is a ‘must listen’.
