'Who insulted Parliament - Kejriwal or MPs?'
In a move to support his key aide Arvind Kejriwal who has been facing political backlash for his comments on parliamentarians, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Sunday kickstarted a voting campaign in the city on who has insulted the Parliament — Arvind Kejriwal or the parliamentarians.
“162 MPs have serious criminal charges against them. Routinely MPs mock the parliament — they throw chairs, tear bills and now they even show utter lack of basic decency by watching blue films during proceedings. We are asking Mumbaikars, who they feel has insulted the Parliament — those with criminal background and indecent behaviour or Arvind Kejriwal who stated the above facts?” stated a release issued by India Against Corruption. On Monday, IAC will appeal people to vote between 5 pm to 7 pm at Churchgate station and Andheri station.
Mr Hazare, who was in the city on Sunday to inaugurate a photographic exhibition, kickstarted the campaign by becoming its first voter. Over the next few days, IAC will approach 50,000 voters in the city at railway stations at other busy places.
Mr Kejriwal had refused that he had lowered the dignity of Parliament and stated that it was the dubious antecedent of some parliamentarians who had insulted the Parliament, not the activists.
Meanwhile, Mr Hazare appealed to the people, “First change your localities and then think about bring the change in the society”.
