‘TYBCom results to be out this week’
The University of Mumbai officials on Monday said that the TYBCom results for regular students will be declared within this week. The announcement comes after a delegation of activists from the Nationalist Students Union of India (NSUI) urged the officials to declare the results early, so that students don’t find applying for jobs or further studies difficult.
Speaking about the meeting with the vice-chancellor Dr Rajan Welukar and pro-vice-chancellor Dr Naresh Chandra, the NSUI state vice-president Vaibhav Dhanawade said, “In the past, students have faced inconvenience due to the delay in results. In many cases, students lost their jobs as well as a chance to study abroad.”
He said that the NSUI received numerous complaints from the alumni as well as requests from the current lot, asking them to approach the University. “Therefore, we took a delegation to meet the top authorities of the University on Monday,” said Mr Dhanawade.
He added that the delegation handed over a memorandum of demands, which included early declaration of results to Dr Welukar and Dr Chandra. Both the officials assured them that the results would be declared within this week, he said. Confirming the development, Dr Chandra said that the results of the regular students, who appeared for the TYBCom exams on the 60:40 format, would be declared some time this week. “There are about 70,000 students, who appeared for the regular exams and we are making all efforts to ensure that the results are declared as soon as possible. The results of the students who took the exams on the old pattern will be declared two days after that,” he said.
Mr Dhanawade said that the officials assured them that their demand of the annual budget of the University to be put up on the University website, would be placed before the management council.
