Students clean up beach
Students of Veeramata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) at Matunga on Saturday embarked on a “Clean Mumbai Drive” at Dadar Chowpatty.
The drive, which is aimed at keeping the beaches clean in an environment-friendly manner, saw about 70 students, which included students from DY Patil College, collect and segregate garbage before disposing it off in the correct manner.
At the event, students segregated the garbage in two parts, biodegradable and non-biodegradable, so that waste
could be managed and be further reused. Students participated in the event with beanbags and gloves.
“Please do not throw any garbage on the streets or any other place. Every person should know the importance of our environment,” said Pallavi Sankhe, head of the event.
