NBW issued against Zinta
A Mumbai court on Thursday issued a non-bailable warrant against actress Preity Zinta after she failed to appear in court during the hearing of the cheque bounce case filed by scriptwriter Abbas Tyrewala.
“The court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Ms Zinta on Thursday,” confirmed her lawyer Ratneshwar Jha, adding, “We will probably move the Bombay high court and file a writ petition.”
Mr Tyrewala had filed a complaint against Ms Zinta alleging that a cheque of `18 lakh issued by the actress to him had bounced. In the last hearing of the case, Ms Zinta was directed to be personally present in the next court hearing, however, on Thursday when the actress didn’t turn up, the court issued a non-bailable warrant against her.
This is the fourth time that the actress has failed to make an appearance in the court despite repeatedly being told to be present. According to a media report, on Wednesday, the court had imposed a fine of `5,000 on the actress, as she didn’t turn up for the hearing.
