MU blunders draw MNVS ire
Following a spate of exam related goof-ups, the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena (MNVS) held a massive protest outside the Kalina campus on Monday. The activists demanded an immediate inquiry in the goof-ups that have occurred over the past 15 days and asked the University officials to take action against the guilty officials.
Speaking about the numerous goof-ups witnessed in the examination process of the University in the past 15 days, an MNVS activist said, “There has been one goof-up
or the other in the various exams currently being conducted. Students get stressed due to this and are afraid their performance in the exams will suffer. Hence, we held a symbolic protest outside the Kalina campus demanding that the University take steps to put an end to the students’ suffering.”
Some of the goof-ups include opening of wrong question paper packets, error in the distribution of marks in the question paper, wrong questions being printed, non-printing of question papers etc. This has resulted in students appearing for the exams with apprehension and trepidation, the activist said.
After the protest that brought traffic outside the campus to a standstill for nearly 30 minutes, the activists then met the pro-vice-chancellor Dr Naresh Chandra and in-charge controller of examination Deepak Wasave and demanded an immediate stop to such a callous attitude of the University towards the exams.
“We have already initiated inquiries into the goof-ups and will be taking action against the officials guilty of dereliction of duty,” assured Dr Chandra.
