Lohariya son blames 3 senior cops
Sunny Lohariya, son of slain Navi Mumbai builder Sunilkumar Lohariya, has accused three senior police officers of shielding accused Suresh Bijlani, including the then Vashi police senior inspector Raosaheb Sardesai. Mr Lohariya claimed that the cops have been hand-in-glove with the accused and even took morning walks together.
He only named Mr Sardesai and referred to the other cops as “senior officers”. “One of them is a senior IPS officer in Navi Mumbai, while two other DCP level officers are posted in Mumbai. My father was preparing to file a writ petition in the Bombay high court against Bijlani, Anurag Garg, SP Agarwal, Sumeet Bachewar and Bhupesh Gupta, when the IPS officer repeatedly requested him to withdraw it. I can’t name the officers since I fear a backlash by way of being framed in a false case,” said Mr Lohariya, while speaking to mediapersons.
He, however, directly accused Vashi police station senior inspector Sardesai of being close to the accused. “While I was in the process of registering the FIR in the hospital where my father was admitted, Raosaheb Sardesai came inside the room and audaciously told me not to name Bijlani and others in the complaint. He even said ‘Agar tum logo ne Bijlani, SP aur Anurag ka naam liya toh accha nahin hoga’ (The consequences will not be good if you name Bijlani, SP and Anurag),” Mr Lohariya said. When contacted, Mr Sardesai said that there was no point in commenting. “Mr Lohariya has been making these allegations all along,” he said.
