Lady kills paramour to usurp flat
A 35-year-old married woman from Nagpur was on Friday arrested for killing her paramour so that she could usurp a flat that he had bought recently. The accused’s lover, who is a real estate dealer, had refused to transfer the flat in her name.
According to the Gittikhadan police, real estate developer Hiralal Shende left for Gondia, Madhya Pradesh on October 7 and was unreachable after that night. After repeated attempts to contact him, his family registered a missing person’s complaint with the Gittikhadan police on October 10.
The police then obtained his call data records and sent a team to Gondia, where his cellphone was traced last.
“We showed Hiralal’s photograph to the local police station in Gondia. The officers told us that the man had been found dead in a forest area on October 8 and that they had been trying to identify him since then. We then went back to Hiralal’s call data records and zeroed in on two numbers that Hiralal had spoken to frequently, before going missing. The location of both these numbers on October 7 also turned out to be in Gondia,” said C.M. Bahadure, police inspector, Gittikhadan police station.
The police then picked up the owners of the two numbers, identified as Shakuntala Katre (35) and Amrutlal Pardhi. Inquiries revealed that Hiralal and Katre were having a clandestine extra-marital affair.
“Hiralal had recently bought a flat in Gondia, which Shakuntala wanted for herself. When he refused to transfer it in her name, she paid off Pardhi and two others to kill him. Shakunatala and Amrutlal accompanied Hiralal to Gondia on October 7 and murdered him during the early hours of October 8,” Mr Bahadure said.
Shakuntala and Amrutlal are placed under arrest.
