HSC application date extended
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has extended the dates of application for the September/October 2013 HSC exams after students complained of website issues due to which they have been unable to fill out their forms by the stipulated deadline of July 22.
On Wednesday, the board issued a circular announcing the extension of dates from August 6 to 10 providing much needed relief to students wanting to opt for betterment as well as for re-examination.
According to the circular issued by the secretary of the MSBSHSE, due to technical glitches, many students wanting to reappear for the HSC exams in September/October 2013 had complained of not being able to fill their applications online.
“The board has taken cognisance of the complaints by the students and decided to extend the date for application to August 6. Students failing to apply by then will have an opportunity to fill out their forms with late fees from August 7 to 10. Once the application is filled out online, the students will have to pay the fees in their respective junior colleges which the colleges will have to submit latest by August 10,” said the statement by the board. Junior colleges accepting applications with late fees will have to submit the same by August 14.
In another circular issued by the board, both SSC and HSC students who represented their schools/junior colleges in sports, but failed, would be able to apply for sports marks till August 8. The date for submission of documents has also been extended from July 31 due to technical glitches, the board circular said.
The board has warned that students failing to submit the required documents within the deadline would not be entertained thereafter. “Schools and colleges will have to submit the documents on behalf of the students,” said the official.
