Garage owner fired at in Jogeshwari
A 46-year-old garage owner sustained three bullet injuries to his lower body, after an unidentified person in Jogeshwari shot him with a firearm late on Tuesday night.
The victim, Gajral Yadav, is fighting a civil case in the high court for a land worth crores, and told the police that he believes his opponent in the case had hired the henchmen to bump him off.
According to the Oshiwara police, the incident took place at around 10.56 pm near GL Yadav garage, owned by Mr Yadav on SV Road. Mr Yadav, was on his way to the garage after his dinner.
The assailant came on a motorcycle from the rear and after firing at him sped away with two others. Security guards who witnessed the incident rushed Mr Yadav to Cooper Hospital, and then to Surgicare Hospital in the Lokhandwala area. Mr Yadav is reportedly out of danger. “Mr Yadav said that he suspects Ram Chandra Chaturvedi and Ghanshyam Chatur-vedi,” said one of the investigating officials.
PSI Ravikand Sawant said, “We have registered a case of attempt to murder.” The Chaturvedi brothers and two others have been detained for questioning.
