Father of PSI in PM’s SPG traced, two arrested
The Police on Saturday traced the father of a Police sub inspector in Prime Minister's SPG, who was kidnapped from Jounpur district in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
Two persons have been arrested in connection with the case this evening, deputy superintendent of Police P.R. Patil told reporters tonight.
Shyamlal Bhageruram, father of PSI Rajshekhar who works in the special protection group of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, was kidnapped from Jounpur district in Uttar Pradesh on February 9 for extortion purpose and was being taken to Mumbai.
Mr Patil said the police got information on Shyamlal's kidnapping and that the kidnappers were taking him to Mumbai via Nashik.
The police were checking vehicles when they spotted a silver coloured zylo car near a dhaba at Ghoti bordering Thane district in which kidnapped Shyamlal and two persons were travelling.
Shyamlal told the police that he was kidnapped from Utter Pradesh by Rajiv Mourya and Deepak Patel who were in the car. The Police have recovered a fake pistol and five mobiles from the duo.
Meanwhile, a police team from Uttar Pradesh reached Ghoti and identified Shyamlal. Mourya and Patel who were arrested by the Nashik police were handed over to Uttar Pradesh Police, Patil added.
