Actress files NC against ex-lover

Actress Pratyusha Banerjee, who was seen in TV shows like Balika Vadhu and Jhalak Dikhlaja Jaa, filed a police case against her ex-boyfriend, city-based businessman Makrand Malhotra in the early hours of Wednesday. Mr Malhotra too, has filed a cross complaint against her.
According to the Oshiwara police, at around 1 am, the 22-year-old actress was speaking on the phone to her former boyfriend Mr Malho-tra at her residence. The duo got into a verbal spat, following which Ms Banerjee approached the Oshiwara police station.
The couple had been in a relationship for the last two years and due to unknown reasons, the couple parted ways. Ms Banerjee has alleged that Mr Malhotra literally forced her to reach out to the police.
“We have registered a non-cognisable complaint under Section 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) of the IPC against Mr Malhotra. We have also registered a case under the same section against Ms Banerjee and her father as Mr Malhotra alleged that he too abused him. We cannot take any action in the matter unless they approach the court,” said investigating officer, police sub-inspector, Ravikant Sawant of Oshiwara police station.
When contacted, Ms Banerjee confirmed, “I filed a case at the Oshiwara police station last night, but I cannot say anything more about the incident.”
