Acid victim kin meet defence authorities
The family of the acid attack victim, Preeti Rathi is to meet the defence authorities on Monday to request that she be allowed to retain her job and resume at a later stage after her recovery.
The 25-year-old girl had come to Mumbai drom New Delhi to join as a nurse in INS Asvini Defense Hospital in Colaba on Thursday, when an unidentified man had thrown acid on her at Bandra Terminus.
She has suffered grievous injuries not only on her face, eye, arm, and chest, but also in her digestive tracks as some of the acid had entered her mouth.

5 killed, 36 hurt in 2 road mishaps
Nashik, May 5: Three persons were killed and six others injured when their car collided with a tractor near Andarsul on Yeola-Aurangabad Road at Nashik, the police said. The mishap occurred last evening when the car was mowed down by a tractor, killing three persons. The deceased were identified as Ayubkhan Khudadkhan (50), Mehrunissa Ayubkhan (73) and Tahejibnisa Farukh Ali (60), residents of Bhandup in Mumbai. The six others injured were admitted to the Nashik Civil Hospital.
In another accident, two persons of a marriage party were killed and 30 others sustained injuries when their truck overturned on Savada-Ringangaon Road yesterday in Jalgaon district, the police said. Shevantabai Palaskar (60) and Anjanabai Patil (45) were identified as the deceased while all the injured were admitted to Jalgaon Civil Hospital. — PTI
