3,074 Mhada homes up for grabs in lottery on May 29
The lottery draw for 3,074 affordable homes will be conducted on May 29.
“Home buyers wait for us to come up with the lottery draw. This year the same lottery software that was used last year will be used as we have updated it,” said Bhausaheb Dangde, chief officer of Mhada’s Mumbai Board.
As per the plans, 1,076 homes will be up for sale in Mumbai and another 1,998 units in Mira Road.
Last year, it was announced that no high-income group homes would be made available. However, this year, as many as 172 homes are still being made available for high-income group applicants.
The areas where flats will be available in Mumbai are Malad, Gorai, Sion, Charkop, Powai, Magathane and Kurla.
This year onwards it will be compulsory for the applicants to mention their PAN card details. Those applicants having a joint bank accounts will not be allowed to apply. These two rules were added after a major housing fraud came to light in 2011.
An advertisement on the sale of homes is likely to be issued on April 11 and 12 and thereafter, forms will be available for a fortnight. This will be followed by the scrutiny of applications.
Like last year, this year too forms will be available online.
