28-yr-old knocked down by biker, dies
A 28-year-old pedestrian walking back home with his cousin was killed after a speeding bike knocked him down on the Gorai Jetty Road in Borivali (west) on Saturday night, the police said.
According to the Gorai police, the accident took place at around 9 pm, when the deceased, Rajeshwar Vishvakarma, and his cousin, Ramchandra Vishvakarma (36), were walking on the side of the road.
The unidentified accused came speeding on his Hero Honda Passion and rammed into Rajeshwar. Due to the impact, Rajeshwar fell to the ground and suffered grievous injuries to his head. The biker fled from the spot without rendering help to the victim.
“There are no street lights on the road. The spot where the accident took place has a slight curve and the motorist might have failed to see the two pedestrians who were walking on the corner of the road in the dark. Rajeshwar noted down the number of the bike. We are trying to trace him,” said a police official.
