21-yr-old’s body found in Kanjurmarg nullah
The body of a 21-year-old boy was found in a nullah by the Vikhroli police under the Eastern Express Highway near Kanjurmarg village on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Arjun Sudam Tembkar (21). According to senior PI Mahipat Indalkar of Vikhroli police station, at around 8.30 am, a few locals discovered the body. The caller informed the police control room, which in turn informed the Vikhroli police. “The body was found in a nullah near the Eastern Express Highway by a driver of a local motor driving school who had gone to relieve himself. His neck was hacked with a sharp weapon, almost close to being decapitated. There were also slashes on his head, feet and hands. The victim was wearing a vest and a black coloured trouser. There were no personal belongings on the victim’s body. The murder seems to have taken place at a different spot and the body later dumped here,” said Mr Indalkar.
The body was sent to Rajawadi Hospital in Vidyavihar for post-mortem. The police has now registered a case of murder against the unknown assailants. The photo of the victim was circulated to other police stations in the vicinity to check if a missing person’s complaint matching the victim’s description has been registered with any of them. The victim’s father and brother identified the body later in the evening.
Arjun had left the home on Sunday around 8.30 pm while talking on the phone and didn’t tell his parents about his whereabouts. Investigations are underway.
