2 held in robbery case of tata Power bill money
The Vile Parle police arrested two men in connection with a robbery case of `21 lakh that belonged to the Tata Power Company and was robbed by two unknown accused last month from the office of a private company collecting electricity bills.
The police said that the incident took place on August 1 at around 8 am in Smart Data Processing Service Private Limited on the Koldongri Road in Andheri (east).
Two men had barged into the Smart Data office and manhandled employee Atul Jain, after which he was confined to another room. The accused then opened the locker using a duplicate key and fled with `21 lakh.
The police found out that one of the employees of the company, Santosh Valgude, had made a duplicate key and passed it on to the two accused as he feared that the company will shut down in the near future and he will lose his job. He, therefore, wanted to make a quick buck.
Valgude conspired and roped in two men, including arrested accused Sunil Bhagat, to execute the plan. “We have arrested the two and have recovered `7.11 lakh from them,” said police
inspector, Mahadev Nimbalkar.
