Who is Review Raja?

He goes by the moniker Review Raja and his knowledge of Indian, particularly Tamil, cinema has left many Indians awestruck and many people have since wondered if this is a social media experiment by some clever Indian.
In an interview from Canada, Review Raja says, “I grew up in a small town called Belleville, in Ontario, Canada. Currently, I am working as a business analyst in a mid-size IT company in Toronto.”
For a “small town Canadian” his knowledge of Tamil actors and plots are truly impressive. “I watched Billa with some friends a year ago. I really felt a connection with the Indian culture. Hollywood movies focus too much on the dream lifestyle and are the same thing over and over. I found that Tamil films spoke to everyday issues that everyone could relate to and reflect the Indian culture accurately. After that first film I was hooked on Kollywood. In regards to my knowledge, I am always reading about Kollywood and watching movies to broaden my awareness around the actors, actresses, and films,” he explains.
“After seeing Billa about a year ago I knew people around the world needed to know about Tamil Cinema. I started Review Raja to show the world what they are missing out on by giving my perspective in a funny, entertaining, and insightful way,” he avers. Review Raja’s favourite Indian movies include: Rajini’s Sivaji and Annamalai, Kamal Haasan’s Indian and Virumaandi and Ajith’s Billa. “With regard to the actors and actresses, I like most I have many favourites including Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Ajith, Vijay, Suriya, and Vikram. When it comes to actresses I really love Shreya, Pooja and Tammana,” he adds.
So what next from Review Raja after Vishwaroopam and Billa 2 trailer and movie reviews? “I am super excited to announce that my next review will be on Billa 2 and I will be releasing it on July 14!
