As their $100 million super yacht set sail for the first time in Plymouth, Devon, the duo became the proud owners of the world’s most expensive luxury vessel. The extravagant cruiser that took over two years to build boasts of a helipad on a six-story deck. Christened Vava II, the 96-meter yacht is a sailing beauty that is a jewel in the crown of an already extensive yacht collection of Swiss born pharmaceutical tycoon Ernesto Bertarelli. Ernesto, 45, deemed to be the 8th wealthiest man in UK, is an avid sailor while his wife Kristy, former Miss United Kingdom, is among the richest women in the country. Ernesto has already won two prestigious America’s cup yacht races.
The duo’s lavish craft was put through sea trials last week as curious spectators gathered to witness the phenomenon and capture the sailing beauty in all its glory. The vessel that was built by over 200 craftsmen has multiple facilities that one can only fantasise about. The interiors of Vava II were done by renowned designer Remi and the exterior by specialist Redman Whiteley Dixon and styled by Tessier. Starting with opulent guest cabins and four boats to transport guests back and forth from the shore to featuring a hold down beach club and a pool that can vary its water depth according to the preference of the guests on board. The yacht will be delivered to the couple in February.
