Where will a real life Iron Man soar?
In the United States this summer, where a Swiss adventurer is going to fly his custom-made jet suit. Yves Rossy, also known as ‘Jetman’, will be making appearances at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture in Wisconsin. His spectacular demonstration of the carbon-Kevlar jetwing with four engines was met with much anticipation, reported The Huffington Post.
Daredevil Rossy says he hopes to inspire people with his flight. He will be able to propel himself through the sky at speeds over 190 mph, by controlling his jet suit with a throttle in his hand.
He can also reach heights as high as 12,000 feet. At one point of time, he even flew alongside a World War II B-17 bomber.
AirVenture runs through Aug 4 in Oshkosh, and Rossy’s flights will be part of the air shows during the week. Rossy has been called Airman, Jetman, Rocketman and even Fusionman, according to his different innovative projects. Earlier, he served as a fighter pilot in the Swiss Air Force, flying Dassault Mirage IIIs, Northrop F-5 Tiger IIs and Hawker Hunters.
He’s been featured on shows such as Stan Lee’s Superhumans and BBC’s Top Gear.
