Where are women selling ‘skin-space’ for ads?
In Tokyo, an advertising agency has found a very interesting way to catch the attention of men. The agency has found a unique place to put up ads. WIT agency has started placing ads on women’s thighs as a way to attract eyeballs in an ad-saturated Tokyo. The consumers in the city are comparatively hard to reach as a result of an abundance of billboards, neon signs and TV screens. The Daily Mail reported the CEO of WIT as saying, “It’s an absolutely perfect place to put an advertisement as it’s what guys are eager to look at and girls are OK to expose.”
The girls, who participate in this unusual marketing campaign, are allowed to wear short skirts with thigh-high socks and can earn upwards of $100 a day. The campaign has promoted rock bands Green Day and Ted so far and they have signed on as many as 3,000 women for the campaign.
