When can you get a new-age digital tattoo?
When you place a chip inside your skin! How would you like a tattoo that gets under your skin? If you think getting a real one is painful enough, how about placing a digital work of art inside?
Well, now you can, thanks to efforts by Anthony Antonellis, from New York. He has placed a radio frequency identification (RFID) chip, which is about the size of a grain of rice, and attached with a tiny antenna in his hand. When you place a smartphone against the incision, the work of art shows itself. According to The Daily Mail, the visual artist told Animal NY that “It’s usually used for privacy, and I’m using it for a public purpose, which is to distribute artwork.”
The chip is powered by magnetic field generated from the reader and has data storage of 1KB.
It can be read by compatible phones, tablets and card readers.”
