What could protect you from a terror strike?
A backpack! This knapsack, devised by 27-year-old designer, Hila Raam, is said to act as a protective shield in case of an emergency. According to The Daily Mail, Hila Raam’s creation costs around £300 and can protect one’s vital organs against the impact of an explosion. It has a 19-layer Kevlar fabric at its core and users need to pull the straps on the side and yellow strings from the hood in case there is cause for any alarm. They need to lie flat on the ground immediately and cover their heads.
The young designer claims that the product weighs a little over five pounds. She was quoted as saying, “ I wanted to protect people while they were in open spaces and couldn’t find shelter in a limited time frame. The main goal was that it shouldn’t look like protective gear but an ordinary bag, yet be more than that.”
One may feel that the probable drawback of this kind of gear is that the bag may protect one’s vital organs; it can’t cover the arms and legs.
