Water Woes

When news of the beauty Goddess Salma Hayek’s secret behind her perfect skin came out, beauty experts across the world were appalled. The 46-years-old star, who looks much younger than her age, admitted that her less than hygienic regime is the secret behind her skin perfection.

A strange tip that Salma gave was ‘Don’t wash your face in the morning, at all, never. Because at night your skin is rebuilding some of the oils that you need to keep your skin young, and it balances the PH. So in the morning if you take them off, you can splash it with water, do something mild, but you don't want to get rid of that. And if your skin is dirty in the morning, it means you didn’t clean well at night.” The mother-of-one who has developed her own range of beauty products that she uses all the time.
We spoke with Jayaraman Kapparath, regional head, South India, OBD, Sohum Spa, (Moevenpick Hotel & Spa, Bengaluru) on skin perfecting tips.

A splash in time
Jayaraman feels those with dry skin can opt for Salma Hayek’s beauty secret. Though it might work for them, they can still opt for a quick one-rinse with lukewarm water. Those with dry skin must completely avoid washing their face with hot water. Those with oily skin, must definitely wash their face every morning and dab a good moisturiser that suits their skin. Immediately post a shower, take a drop of avocado oil and rub it gently on your face.

Glow worm
Most celebrities have a glowing, flawless skin and keep you wondering about the underlying secrets. It is not just sheer luck to be born with a good skin, but equally important to maintain a regular skin care regime.
Matured skin is characterised by loss of moisture, which results soon in appearance of ageing signs. Indulge in a 60-minute facial treatment to let the skin’s natural hydration level recover. Skin care cream with collagen and thermal mask with orange work can be used to collectively to fulfill the skin’s needs.

Eternal youth
For a body with sheen, vanilla and cocoa body envelopment makes for a great wrap with vigorous yet gentle exfoliation using vanilla and coco thermal mud. The body is then lathered with deep cleansing and detoxifying vanilla cocoa wrap.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
